Every couple of months, some concerned reader will leave a comment on one of my reviews along the lines of "Your comments are irrelevant. This book was intended for girls, dummy!"
Believe me, I'm well aware of the fact that I'm not a girl. I would fully agree that there are plenty of experiences that girls go through that I'll never face and thus can't relate to. But judging a book's merits isn't really in the same league.
Trust me, I read plenty of books that are intended for female readers. I like 80% of them. The 20% I dislike are simply - in my opinion - badly written. And I rather doubt that my opinion would be all that much different if I was a girl!
